Mark DuganMark V. Dugan

Mark graduated with distinction from Kansas University in 1986.  He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1989, where he was an articles editor for the Kansas Law Review.  Afterworking in poverty law for a year, he went to work for Terris, Pravlik & Wagner in Washington, D.C., representing individuals and environmental groups in citizen litigation under the federal environmental laws.  He returned to Kansas City in 1995 and spent ten years litigating cases at Blackwell Sanders, one of Kansas City’s largest large law firms.  More recently, he represented individuals and businesses at Stueve Siegel Hanson, a prominent plaintiffs’ firm, litigating unpaid overtime and commercial disputes.  Mark is Treasurer of the Kansas City Worker Justice Center (KCWJC) and an active attorney volunteer in monthly wage theft clinics put on by KCWJC.  He is a member of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.  Mark is also the Chair of the Political Action Committee associated with the Mainstream Coalition.

Heather SchlozmanHeather J. Schlozman

Heather graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1989. She graduated from Washington University School of Law in 1994, where she was an associate editor of the Journal of Urban and Contemporary Law.  She completed a clerkship for the Illinois Court of Appeals and worked in private practice.  Most recently, Heather was an assistant regional counsel for the Social Security Administation handling employment and disability law matters, including conducting hearings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.  Heather is President of the Kansas City Worker Justice Center (KCWJC) , and an active attorney volunteer in monthly wage theft clinics put on by KCWJC.  She is a member of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
